Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Senior Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita served as a guest lecturer for practical training in social medicine at Akita University’s Faculty of Medicine.
In a session titled “Understanding the Policy Formulation Process,” Mr. Kurita gave a systematic lecture on policy process theory, which is necessary for understanding the healthcare system. He also covered topics like recent developments in social security and drew upon his firsthand experiences as someone involved in policy formulation. Mr. Kurita’s lecture also featured a description of think tanks, covering topics such as the definition and positioning of think tanks and the role that they play in policy formulation.
