Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Senior Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita participated in a conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Mr. Kurita served as a designated speaker for Symposium 3, titled “Toward the Implementation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Society.”
During his lecture, Mr. Kurita gave an introduction of “Recommendations on the Future Dissemination of CBT and Support Methods Based on CBT Concepts” presented by HGPI in 2021. Mr. Kurita also expressed his high expectations for CBT to elevate wellbeing in Japan’s super-aging society. During the Q&A session, Mr. Kurita commented on how to best structure evaluations to properly recognize and support the activities of specialists. He also pointed out the importance of maintaining and improving the ability of social security to serve as a form of mutual support by strengthening redistribution.
Through its Mental Health Project and Child Health Project, HGPI is holding discussions, building programs, and generating policy recommendations on CBT and support methods based on CBT concepts.
