date : 8/8/2025
Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) is pleased to announce the release of an introductory video and flyer for Japan’s Patient Expert Platform (J-PEP), a website created and operated by HGPI that promotes and encourages meaningful involvement of people with lived experience of health conditions in health policymaking.
These materials were created to provide a clear overview of J-PEP’s purpose and how to use the platform. They are designed as tools for individuals who are accessing J-PEP for the first time and for stakeholders seeking to introduce J-PEP to others. We invite everyone to promote meaningful involvement of people with lived experience to use and share these materials freely.

What is J-PEP?
Japan’s Patient Expert Platform (J-PEP) is an information and exchange platform that aims to promote and encourage the sustainable and appropriate involvement of a diverse range of people with lived experience (including patients, people living with health conditions, their families and caregivers, service users, and other members of the public) in health policymaking. The platform offers centralized access to information such as open recruitment opportunities, training programs, events, and member profiles. It provides tools tailored to the needs of people with lived experience, government officials, training providers, and other related stakeholders.
