(Application Closed) Global Health Education Program (G-HEP) 2017 (March 6 to 13, 2017)
Application for G-HEP2017 has been closed. Thank you.

HGPI is pleased to announce the 2017 Global Health Education Program (G-HEP), “Cooperation and Leadership in Public Health by Youth of China and Japan: Exploring the Common Ground” (Co-Organizer: Department of Global Health Policy, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo /Special Sponsor: Global Health Innovative Technology Fund (GHIT Fund), National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)).

Since 2010, HGPI has been hosting the Global Health Summer Program (GHSP), which gathers young professionals and university students in health related fields, and presents global health issues from a new perspective encouraging participants to think critically about their role and responsibility as future global health leaders. The Department of Global Health Policy (GHP) of the University of Tokyo has also been offering the Global Health Leadership Program (GHLP) since 2010, which was later renewed as Global Health Entrepreneurship Program (GHE) in 2014, conducting workshops on leadership and innovation.

From 2017, in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, we are renewing our program as “Global Health Education Program (G-HEP)”, with an enhanced focus on the interactions among young generations of Japan and the world. Through G-HEP, we hope to establish a global community of young leaders that can cooperate to push global health agendas forward.

G-HEP 2017
The G-HEP 2017 will focus on agenda shaping of critical global health issues including infectious diseases control on emerging pandemics and AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance), sustainability of healthcare systems and promotion of UHC (Universal Health Coverage), and population dynamics in aging society with a declining birthrate. Through a discussion and dialogue between participants of China and Japan, we hope to strengthen the network among young global health leaders in Asia Pacific. This year’s field destination will be Beijing, China. G-HEP participants from Japan will meet public health students from top graduate schools in China, together conducting field research and delving into discussion on critical global health issues. As the culmination of program, participants will have in-depth discussion round tables on global health agendas of both countries and conduct presentations of discussion points to stakeholders of China and Japan.

The goal of this program is to support the growth of next global health leaders to be able to think globally while contributing to health issues both in China and Japan. In order to fulfill this goal, the main language of the program will be English. You don’t have to speak perfectly- we welcome applicants with conversational level English to apply!

Interested applicants, please download the application form on the right and send to info@hgpi.org by Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at 17:00.
