Symposium for the Establishment of Kanagawa Medical Innovation School
– Development of Global Public Health Experts –
The Kick-off Symposium for the New School of Public Health “Kanagawa Medical Innovation School” (Provisional), expected to be established in 2019
Date
2017-02-03
We are pleased to invite you to the Symposium for the Establishment of Kanagawa Medical Innovation School (MIS) -Development of Global Public Health Experts-, convened jointly by Kanagawa Prefectural Government & Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) on Friday, February 3rd, 2017.
As we transition into being a super-aged society, Japan is reaching the limits of the sustainability of existing social systems such as the national pension system, and our medical services. At the same time, outside of Japan, the world is facing health problems that need to be solved on a global scale, such as infectious and chronic diseases. To address all of these issues, Kanagawa Prefecture’s Healthcare New Frontier Policy group has proposed the creation of new social systems based on two solutions, namely, the concept of “ME-BYO” (which is the idea that systems should focus on addressing transition phases between health and sickness) and the promotion of the latest medical technology. Strategic human resource development is essential for the fostering of the new global leaders who will lead health promotion activities and transform healthcare systems through innovative solutions in the future. With this in mind, the Kanagawa Prefectural Government is in the process of establishing a new School of Public Health, the “Kanagawa Medical Innovation School (MIS)”.
Prior to the launch of this school, Kanagawa Prefectural Government and HGPI will jointly convene a symposium for the establishment of the Kanagawa MIS on Friday, February 3, 2017. This symposium will aim to communicate the concept of MIS, showcase expected career paths for prospective graduates, and facilitate the student recruitment process. Furthermore, discussion during the seminar will contribute to the enrichment of the MIS concept and the design of its programs.
We look forward to seeing you in the meeting.
