[Lecture Report] The 43rd Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Dementia Research Symposium 6 “Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Dementia Research” (Novemeber 21, 2024, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture)

Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Associate Ms. Nana Moriguchi delivered a presentation titled “Current Status of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Dementia Research and Development – Based on International Trends” at Symposium 6 “Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Dementia Research” during the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Dementia Research.
In her presentation, she outlined key points regarding patient and public involvement in the Basic Act on Dementia and shared partial results from an international survey on patient and public involvement in dementia research currently being conducted by HGPI.
Since the discussion on PPI in research has intensified in dementia policy, this was the first time the topic was featured at this academic conference, attracting many attendees. The symposium provided a meaningful opportunity to create awareness about PPI in dementia research.
