Mr. Joji Sugawara, Vice President of Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), participated in a discussion on social issues titled ” Global Health & Planetary Health – New Perspectives on Healthcare Business on a Global Scale and for the Future – ” at IVS2024, Japan’s largest startup conference, held on July 4, 2024, in Kyoto.
This session aimed to raise awareness and increase the number of players in the business sector concerning global health and planetary health. Sugawara focused his remarks, particularly on the following points:
1. Global challenges and the 2030 Agenda
2. The new perspectives brought by the concept of planetary health
3. The role and opportunities for the business sector
Numerous entrepreneurs, startups, companies, and investors attended the session, reaffirming the importance of global and planetary health. Future sustainable development is expected to incorporate the perspective of planetary health, promoting collaboration with various stakeholders.
