Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) hosted an online information session for people with lived experience with health concerns regarding the website Japan’s Patient Expert Platform (J-PEP), which was launched on August 21, 2024.
J-PEP was established to support patients and others with lived experience who wish to participate in the health policy formulation process. At this online seminar, we discussed the background that led up to the establishment of J-PEP, the functions that J-PEP offers users, and other aspects of the website.
Those who register as J-PEP members can access information on participation opportunities and training that will be useful for participation, as well as sign up for events for interaction and exchange among patients and people with lived experience. Anyone who has lived experience with a health concern and is interested in serving as a patient expert in policymaking can register as a member of J-PEP for free.
Leading up to the full launch of J-PEP, which is scheduled for fall 2024, we have presented an overview of the website and opened pre-registration for people with lived experience. We welcome all interested parties to pre-register at the J-PEP website.
