Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) held the 2 lecture of the 11th semester of Health Policy Academy (HPA).
At the second lecture, entitled “The History of Health Policy/ Health Insurance System”, Yasuki Kobayashi (Former Professor, Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo) provided holistic explanation of health insurance that included the charactaristics of health policy in Japan, the economic charactaristics of healthcare and theory, truth and challenges of medical insurance from his perspective with utilising international data. In the Q&A session, students from diverse backgrounds actively asked questions, and it was a lively exchange of opinions that transcended industry and regional barriers.
The 11th semester of HPA will be held over the next six months. It aims to provide participants with opportunities to learn basic knowledge and acquire skills for health policy through lectures by opinion leaders and interactive multi-stakeholder discussions among participants.
