[Event Report] The 11th Semester of Health Policy Academy, Lecture 1 – Introduction (May 26, 2022)

On May 26, 2022, Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) held the first lecture of the 11th semester of Health Policy Academy (HPA).

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, this semester of HPA faces the challenge of being held in a blended format. However, this new format provides the opportunity to deliver the program to people based in different regions in Japan.

At the first lecture, entitled “Introduction,” HGPI Board Member Kohei Onozaki provided a comprehensive overview of frameworks for health policy and public health and introduced discussions on the current topics such as countermeasures against the COVID-19 pandemic and preventive healthcare. Various questions from participants from diverse backgrounds and at different physical locations resulted in an active discussion during the following Q&A session.

The 11th semester of HPA will be held over the next six months. It aims to provide participants with opportunities to learn basic knowledge and acquire skills for health policy through lectures by opinion leaders and interactive multi-stakeholder discussions among participants.

For more information on the 11th semester of HPA, please see here.
*This program is available only in Japanese.
