Nikkei Inc. and AMR Alliance Japan (Secretariat: Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI)) jointly held the Third Meeting of the Sub-committee on AMR of the Nikkei Asia Africa Conference on Communicable Diseases – Asia Africa Medical Innovation Consortium (AMIC).
At this third meeting, participants from academia, the Government, industry and civil society discussed recommendations toward policy options to ensure sustainable research and development (R&D) for antimicrobials.
The Sub-committee will continue to work on a concrete proposal on ways to incentivize antimicrobial R&D in the future.
In light of the situation with novel coronavirus, this meeting was carried out primarily online. On-site participants were encouraged to keep a safe physical distance from each other.
