Nikkei Inc. and AMR Alliance Japan (Secretariat: Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI)) jointly held the Second Meeting of Working Group 1 Under the Sub-committee on AMR of the Nikkei Asia Africa Conference on Communicable Diseases – Asia Africa Medical Innovation Consortium (AMIC).
Working groups (WG) were established under the Sub-committee on AMR of the Nikkei Asia Africa Conference on Communicable Diseases – Asia Africa Medical Innovation Consortium (AMIC) in order to discuss the state of the antimicrobial market.
At this second meeting of WG1, WG1 members discussed the definition and categorization of pull incentives.
On the basis of WG discussions, participants agreed to join the second sub-committee on AMR and continue to work hard toward the eventual formulation of a concrete proposal on ways to incentivize antimicrobial R&D in the future.
In light of the situation with novel coronavirus, this meeting was carried out primarily online. On-site participants were encouraged to keep a safe physical distance from each other.
