[Lecture Report] “Transform Care Forum” at the Signature Pavilion “Better Co-Being”, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (May 15, 2025, Yumeshima, Osaka)
date : 5/28/2025
On May 15, 2025, Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Chair Mr. Ryoji Noritake participated as a speaker at the “Transform Care Forum” held at the “Better Co-Being” signature pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
With a central focus on the growing global challenge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the forum brought together experts from academia, government, industry, and civil society to discuss strategies for extending healthy life expectancy in aging societies. Mr. Noritake contributed to the Japan Session, highlighting the importance of early intervention in diseases like COPD, the need for data-driven policy formation, and the role of digital transformation and multidisciplinary collaboration in building sustainable regional healthcare models.
As a major outcome of the forum, participating speakers endorsed a “Joint Declaration for the Transformation of COPD Care in Japan.” The declaration outlines seven key actions including the refinement of disease definitions, nationwide epidemiological data enhancement, integration of personal and electronic health records, and the promotion of evidence-based policymaking led by local governments.
HGPI remains committed to collaborating with stakeholders across sectors to deliver transformative solutions for healthcare through policy dialogue and innovation.
