World Dementia Council (WDC) hosted WDC Summit 2025 on March 25, 2025. From Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), Mr. Ryoji Noritake, Chair of HGPI and WDC Council Member, participated the meeting.
In recent years, innovative disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) for Alzheimer’s disease have been approved by regulatory authorities and are already administered to patients in several countries. Healthcare systems must be transformed to rapidly deliver the benefits of these innovative medical technologies to all patients who need them.
The three main themes of this meeting are “Accelerating Innovation,” “Transforming Thinking,” and “Making Change Happen.” Under these themes, participants from multi-stakeholders worldwide actively joined the discussion that covered key topics comprehensively from prevention and risk reduction, to care delivery systems, through research and development (R&D) of DMTs, early diagnosis and patient paths. Ryoji Noritake brought the discussion perspectives including how to harmonize further promotion of R&D and the rapid transformation of the health system to deliver innovation with the dementia-friendly society and involvement of people with dementia that have been long promoted.
