[Lecture Report] “Policy Discourse on Disease-Modifying Drugs for Dementia and Past Developments” (The 66th Annual Meeting of the Japan Geriatrics Society, Symposium 12: New Trends in Integrated Dementia Care After the Launch of Disease-Modifying Drugs; June 14, 2024; Nagoya, Japan)

Mr. Shunichiro Kurita Senior Manager at Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) and Ms. Akari Hase, Program Specialist, gave a lecture titled “Policy Discourse on Disease-Modifying Drugs for Dementia and Past Developments” at the 66th Annual Meeting of the Japan Geriatrics Society. The lecture was given during Symposium 12: New Trends in Integrated Dementia Care After the Launch of Disease-Modifying Drugs. During the lecture, Mr. Kurita shared examples demonstrating how policy discourse has changed in Japan and overseas after the recent launch of disease-modifying drugs for dementia. He also shared an analysis on the effects that specialized knowledge in this field has on policy formulation.
