Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita contributed a column titled, “Our Responsibilities as the World’s Leading Super-Aging Society.”
Looking ahead to the G7 Health Ministers’ Meeting in Nagasaki City on May 13 and 14, 2023, Mr. Kurita’s column described the importance of discussing dementia and the aging agenda. The column also identified three key policy issues on which Japan should guide the international community in the future: (1) Promoting involvement for people living with dementia; (2) Reexamining attitudes that place responsibility for health solely on the individual; and (3) Examining increased financial burdens to build sustainable social security systems.
