Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Manager Ms. Yuko Imamura participated in a meeting hosted by the Danish Embassy titled, “The Japan-Denmark Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable on Formulating Policies for Infertility Treatment.” This meeting was held as part of a bilateral dialogue forum that began in 2020 that gathers multi-stakeholders from Japan and Denmark such as policy makers, academic societies, clinicians, patient groups, industry, experts, and others involved in infertility treatment, reproductive medicine, and women’s health. There, Ms. Imamura introduced results of HGPI’s “Public Opinion Survey on Child-Rearing in Modern Japan,” and the roundtable discussed current and future policies surrounding infertility treatments and measures to address falling birthrates after infertility treatments were granted insurance coverage in April of this year.
