The Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Control Promotion Project hosted an event titled the “Nationwide Summit for Promoting CVD Control.” The objective of this Summit was to contribute to the effective and smooth promotion of CVD control measures in each prefecture, to share best practices among regions, and to exchange opinions on CVD control.
The Summit was attended by officials in charge of CVD control measures from 38 prefectures. Together, we discussed progress, issues, and future prospects for CVD control in each of their respective prefectures. While referring to discussions held at the opinion exchange session titled the “Kyushu-Shikoku Summit on Promoting Measures for CVD Control” that was held in October 2022, the plenary discussion had three themes: sharing initiatives from the national Government’s Model Projects for Integrated Centers for Stroke and Heart Disease Support and future prospects; promoting patient and public involvement (PPI); and involving related parties through internal and external collaboration at local governments.
During the plenary session, representatives from each local government took part in mutual opinion exchanges and shared questions and answers. Active exchanges of information also took place during breaks before and after the Summit.
