About NCDs

Given the sheer number of cases and fatalities associated with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), it can be said NCDs are the greatest challenge facing public health and healthcare. HGPI has worked as the Japanese representative of NCD Alliance, NCD Alliance Japan, to reflect the voices of patients and other stakeholders in policy by connecting them to domestic and international multi-stakeholders. To that end, we have advocated for policies across NCD fields and have undertaken initiatives to educate and support patient leaders and representatives. HGPI also stimulates multi-stakeholder discussions and generates policy recommendations to contribute to advancing policies related to specific fields like cancer, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), diabetes, and renal diseases.
