About Cancer

Cancer is a major public concern, with estimates suggesting that one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. The Japanese government, under the 4th Basic Plan to Promote Cancer Control Programs, is advancing efforts to “promote cancer control measures that leave no one behind and aim to overcome cancer for all citizens”. At HGPI, we are addressing challenges in the field of cancer, such as regional disparities in medical care and cancer genomic medicine, by collaborating with various stakeholders, including patients and the general public.
