Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) is pleased to announce its endorsement of the “Let’s adapt” campaign led by the Center for Climate Change Adaptation (CCCA) of the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES).
Launched on Thursday, June 26, 2025, the campaign aims to promote adaptation actions that help society prepare for the current and future impacts of climate change while ensuring people continue living comfortably. The campaign is primarily driven by outreach using PR tools, along with activities to advance and disseminate initiatives that contribute to adaptation actions.
The campaign introduces a total of 15 adaptation actions across five categories: Lifestyle, Food, Housing, Sports & Leisure, and Others. These actions present practical knowledge and tips designed to clearly and accessibly explain climate adaptation and help people put adaptation measures into practice in their everyday lives. Additionally, as part of the second phase of the campaign, the CCCA released the “Adaptation Select” in July that is a compilation of specific behavioral options for each action to provide even more concrete and actionable guidance.
To move this campaign forward, the CCCA calls for municipalities, businesses, organizations, and individuals that offer relevant services, media, or products to join as endorsing partners, who contribute through information dissemination and public awareness activities. The Planetary Health Project at HGPI has long engaged widely in activities that align with adaptation actions, including the organization of seminars and symposiums, educational activities through “Planetary Health Academy”, the publication of web columns and policy recommendations, and the submission of public comments. Drawing on these ongoing efforts, HGPI has now decided to join the campaign.

Through the Planetary Health Project, HGPI works with diverse stakeholders to identify challenges and propose necessary actions from the perspective of planetary health – an approach that recognizes the interdependent relationship between the Earth system and human health. Moving forward, HGPI will continue supporting the campaign through our efforts aligned with adaptation actions, while further strengthening outreach to both the public and the healthcare sector to advance planetary health.
