[Presentation] High-Level Forum on the Silver Economy (July 9 – 10, 2019, Helsinki, Finland)
date : 8/1/2019
On July 9 and July 10, 2019, HGPI CEO and Board Member Mr. Ryoji Noritake and HGPI Manager Mr. Matt McEnany attended the High-Level Forum on the Silver Economy held jointly by the Finnish Government and the Global Coalition on Aging (GCOA) in Helsinki, Finland.
With many societies around the world now facing the twin issues of population aging and declining birthrates, the High-Level Forum on the Silver Economy was held to bring together diverse public and private sector stakeholders for a discussion on products, services, and public policies that can help transform aging from a social challenge to an economic opportunity.
On July 9, Mr. Noritake presented on his key messages from the first day of the forum, including the need for people-centric thinking, the growing importance of municipal governments in driving forward policies related to aging, and the value of multi-sector debate on this topic.
HGPI has hosted a number of meetings related to population aging over the past few years, and released policy recommendations for aging societies together with GCOA in November 2018 .
■Recommendations – The Impact of Innovation Across Technology, Health, Care and Urban Design for Super-Ageing Societies
As the world prepares for the Decade of Healthy Aging (2021-2030), HGPI will continue its efforts to promote further, healthy debate on the opportunities presented by population aging.
