Ms. Eri Yoshimura, a Senior Manager at Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), gave a lecture titled “The Basic Act on Dementia to Promote the Realization of a Symbiotic Society and Future Development of Dementia Policy” on September 26, 2024 for local residents and administrative officials at Kinko Town Hall, Kimotsuki, in Kagoshima prefecture. The lecture was published in the morning edition of the Minami-Nihon Shimbun on October 3, 2024.
In her lecture, she gave an overview of the Basic Law on Dementia and exchanged opinions with the participants on how to further develop Kinko’s dementia measures based on the principles of the Basic Law, which the community is already working towards while respecting the self-determination of individuals with dementia. As an additional perspective to the formulation of the basic plan, she also introduced the HGPI policy proposal, “Three Necessary Perspectives for Formulating the Basic Plan for the Promotion of Policies on Dementia”.
