Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Senior Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita gave a lecture titled, “The New Era for Dementia that Lies Before Us” in Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture. During his talk, Mr. Kurita gave an overview of the Basic Dementia Act for an Inclusive Society enacted in June 2023 and explored the impact it may have on society in the future.
This lecture targeted local health and long-term care professionals, government officials, and community members and was hosted by the Wakasa Dementia Link Worker Team, a citizen’s group which aims to popularize citizen link workers in communities.
