(Report) 48th Breakfast Meeting – Clinical Research Ethics by Dr. Iekuni Ichikawa
Researchers’ ethics have been questioned due to traces of manipulated essays, falsified data, and fraudulent accounting being broadcasted on a daily basis. We invited Dr. Iekuni Ichikawa, a specially appointed professor from Shinshu University Clinical Research Ethics, to investigate why so many cases were reported and the reasons behind them. Dr. Ichikawa is a founder of “CITI Japan Project” which involves six universities collaborating to teach graduate students the importance of ethical education through e-learning.
He was also chosen as one of the associate members for “RIKEN’s committee of outside experts to propose reforms for the prevention of research misconduct”.
