[Event Report] The 13th Session of Health Policy Academy, Lecture 2 —Health Policy and Ethics— (September 12, 2024)

Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) held the 2nd lecture of the 13th session of Health Policy Academy (HPA), “Citizenship and Health Policy”.

In the second half of the lecture, Prof. Shintaro Tamate from the Faculty of Law Department of Political Studies, Gakushuin University delivered a lecture on ethical examination methods of health policy. Through group work, participants engaged in the ethical examination of actual policies.

At the 13th Health Policy Academy, participants spend approximately six months exploring how to engage with health policy as citizens. The curriculum is structured in steps, from the basics of policy, through theory and analysis, to practical application. Each lecture will feature instructors who are currently active in their respective fields, and participants from diverse backgrounds will engage in discussion. Through group work aimed at creating policy proposals that serve as the final assignment, the program aims to equip participants with the mindset necessary for the actual policy-making process.
