On May 21, 2025, Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) released the report From Plan to Impact VIII – Time to Deliver, which assesses and monitors the development and content of national dementia plans around the world. In this latest edition, Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) is introduced as an independent organization that has played a key role in the development and implementation of dementia-related policies in Japan, including the enactment process of the Dementia Basic Act which came into effect in 2024.
The From Plan to Impact series, published annually since 2017, aims to monitor progress on the WHO’s Global action plan on the public health response to dementia 2017–2025, which was launched in 2017. This is the eighth edition of the series.
