Mr. Shu Suzuki, Senior Associate at Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), participated in an event organized by Media is Hope entitled “Let’s Create a Renewable Energy Day! 2024” which took place in Shibuya, Tokyo, last September 22, 2024.
Media is Hope is a non-profit association that provides support to accelerate climate change actions through media collaboration with other stakeholders.
This event was a gathering of people from diverse backgrounds, including the public and private sector, experts, practitioners, media, and young people working on climate change solutions. The aim was to promote renewable energy and sustainability efforts through a mixture of talks, music, television programs, and exhibits. It was broadcasted
At the event, Mr. Suzuki shared his thoughts on key actions needed to combat climate change through cross-sectoral collaboration. Through examples, he explained that climate change is not just an environmental issue but a health issue as well, and as such, healthcare workers have a professional responsibility to protect people and the environment. He also shared initiatives from the health sector to address these gaps, with the hope that such efforts will continue to inspire others to drive positive change.
