On September 5, 2024, Dr. Favour Omileke , Program Specialist of Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), attended the International Longevity Centre (ILC) Research Symposium and presented her opinion on the subject topic ‘Mental Health Matters: What are the Policy Priorities for Japan?’.
This symposium was organised by the ILC UK to discuss the policy priorities concerning the mental health burden in Japan.
During her presentation, Favour discussed the current situation regarding the mental illness burden in Japan, what Japan has to offer other countries and what other countries can learn from Japan regarding this issue. She also highlighted the work of the Disaster Psychiatric Assistance Team (DPAT) and the Integrated Care Community-Based System (ICCS) during her presentation.
