Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Manager Ms. Yuko Imamura gave a lecture titled “Survey Findings Regarding Issues in Women’s Health – Socioeconomic Losses and the Importance of Improving Education and Access to Specialists From Younger Ages” at the Liberal Democratic Party Era of the 100-year Lifespan Strategy Headquarters Subcommittee on Women’s Lifelong Health.
During the lecture, Ms. Imamura shared results from the survey conducted by the HGPI Women’s Health Project titled “Survey on Health Promotion and Working Women 2018” as well as from “Developing a Comprehensive Health Education Program for University Students and Program Effectiveness Survey Results.” She then shared the following three recommendations based on the relationship between women’s health literacy and labor productivity and on the fact that many women and young people are now calling for more rigorous education on health and sexuality from childhood and adolescence.
Recommendation 1: Reinforce support for improving health literacy regarding the physiological and psychological changes unique to women at each life stage.
Recommendation 2: Establish a system for improving access to obstetrician-gynecologists.
Recommendation 3: Promote further studies and research in this field.
