HGPI has been conducting research on the creation and use of public private partnerships for dementia research at the request of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED). Through this research, HGPI is proposing models for PPP that can promote effective and efficient dementia research. These models thoroughly consider the various needs of dementia research as well as international collaborations, and utilize both public and private funding. HGPI’s goal is for this research to lead to the construction and utilization of a concrete framework for dementia research in Japan.
For this event, HGPI invited a support group for dementia patients in the United Kingdom, Dementia UK, an Alzheimer research group, Alzheimer’s Research UK, and experts on dementia from Asia. HGPI shared examples and lessons learned from successful cases in which public-private partnerships were used to promote measures on dementia.
