[Event Report] HGPI held a discussion with students from the University of Twente on health policies and ageing in Japan(September 12, 2018)

HGPI welcomed a group of 30 students and their supervisors from the University of Twente. The students were specializing in biomedical engineering and technical medicine, and were on a study trip, “Study Tour Kaizen,” with the goal of understanding how Japan is coping with the challenges of ageing, with a particular interest in the applications of medical technology.
The students gave a short presentation to Ryoji Noritake, HGPI president, giving succinct information about their university and schools, as well as the goal of their trip.

This was followed by a presentation by Ryoji Noritake about HGPI and the way Japan is dealing with the problems of ageing, dementia in particular, from the perspective of policy, and how the country compares to others in the world on various aspects of medical care and policy. Throughout the presentation, students inquired about the particular contents and topics that they had found of interest.
