[Event Report] The Ninth Meeting of the Comparative Research Group on Local Regulations for Dementia (January 26, 2021)

Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) and Designing for Dementia co-hosted the ninth meeting of the Comparative Research Group on Local Regulations for Dementia. The group was formed with the goal of achieving better coexistence with dementia in the future by comparing existing local regulations related to dementia, to examine the content of those regulations, and to consider the ideal procedures for formulating regulations related to dementia.
At the ninth meeting, the Group discussed which recommendations will be included in its interim report based on comparison efforts conducted so far. A lively discussion centered on a draft prepared by the Secretariat was held to finalize the recommendations. In the future, the Group will continue efforts to finalize other sections of the interim report with a planned release date for both the report and recommendations in late March 2021. The interim report and recommendations will be presented on the HGPI and Designing for Dementia websites.
At the fifth to eight meetings of the Study Group, hearings were held with various local governments. Details on those hearings are given below.
