On January 1, 2025, the International Dialogue event, “Fostering Community and Citizen-led Approaches to AMR: Lessons from Antibiotic Smart Sweden” (October 25, 2024) was introduced in the January issue (No. 222) of Journal of Modern Veterinary Medicine (mVm), a small animal clinical journal published by Pharm Press.
This event focused on Sweden and Japan, who are leading the global fight against AMR as the EU presidency (first half of the year) and the G7 presidency in 2023. After an overview of Sweden’s AMR initiatives, including the Antibiotic Smart Sweden project, case studies of community and citizen-led approaches to AMR in both countries were presented by local government representatives. Speakers discussed the opportunities and challenges of implementing community and citizen-led approach to AMR across wider locations, as well as outlined future perspectives.
The report can be found in the “Conference and Seminar report” section on the website or here (Japanese only).
