”Advocacy by Global Health NGOs” 38th Breakfast Meeting
date : 6/28/2012

On the 28 June 2012 the Health and Global Policy Institute hosted its 38th Regular Breakfast Meeting. On this occasion we welcomed Ms. Sumie Ishii, Managing Director of JOICPF, an NGO active in the area of the protection of expectant mothers and women in general in developing countries, to speak on the theme of ‘Advocacy by Global Health NGOs’.
In this Breakfast Meeting, we were given an introduction to the current situation for advocacy in the field of global health, together with future issues and prospects, in light of the history and experiences of JOICPF as a leading Japanese organization in advocacy in the global health field. We had the opportunity to hear about a wide range of issues, such as how citizens can come together to transmit ‘one voice’ for the advocacy.
More than 50 participants came to the meeting and enthusiastically listened to Ms. Ishii’s lecture. At the following question and answer session we had an active discussion about a number of issues, such as JOICPF’s field projects, public relations and cooperation with the business sector.
