Masamitsu Takamatsu

Adjunct Fellow, Health and Global Policy Institute

After obtaining his medical license in Japan, Mr. Masamitsu Takamatsu joined Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) in 2016. At HGPI, he was engaged in devising policy recommendations on global health agendas including AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) and Access to Medicine. He led the launch of G-HEP (Global Health Education Program), which aims to develop future leaders in global health with partner institutes across Asia. To seek clinical experience in community setting, he worked as a junior resident at Nitobe Memorial Nakano General Hospital. In 2019, he joined WHO as STOP (Stop Transmission of Polio) consultant in Nigeria. He is a graduate of Saga University’s Faculty of Medicine.
