Gail Co holds a BS in Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University, an MD from its School of Medicine and Public Health, and an MBA from its Graduate School of Business. She is a licensed physician in the Philippines and is registered with the UK General Medical Council. Following clinical training, she worked in primary care while engaging in volunteer efforts, particularly during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience highlighted the limitations of clinical practice in addressing health system challenges and shifted her focus on health policy and systems reform. Prior to joining HGPI, she served as a project coordinator on planetary health and One Health projects, collaborating with domestic and international stakeholders across sectors and geographies. At HGPI, she participates in projects on universal health coverage, global health, planetary health, AMR, and vaccines, supporting the integration of research, policy, and practice through a health systems and management perspective.
