“Choosing Wisely” is a campaign in which self-driven medical doctors aim to adjust overmedication. It was started in 2011 by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Foundation and the movement has rapidly spread to 17 countries, including Japan. By revising unnecessary medical tests and prescribed medications, it is expected to reduce healthcare cost as well as to improve quality of healthcare.
