Kaoru Matsuzawa
Auditor, Health and Global Policy InstituteMs. Matsuzawa is licensed as an attorney in Japan and the State of New York. In 2002, she joined Mori General Law Office (currently Mori Hamada & Matsumoto). There, she provided legal advice to private companies including those in the fields of medicine and health care. Her activities in public and private sector reform include managing a third-party accident investigation committee set up in the Diet and creating measures to strengthen the governance of independent administrative institutions. She joined HGPI in 2018 where she is involved in efforts to build awareness and understanding of infectious disease prevention methods and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). She is actively engaged in promoting the activities of generalists in the Japanese medical community. She also serves on research ethics committees at national universities and NPOs as well as on the Shibuya City Board of Education. Along with her partners, she founded Miura & Partners in 2019. In 2021, she established OnBoard K.K., an organization which aims to support women in executive roles and achieve diversification goals. She is a graduate of the Department of Law at Keio University Faculty of Law and Harvard Law School.
