Dr. Naoki Ikegami was born in Tokyo in 1949. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine in 1975. He received his M.D. in 1981. He has served as Professor in Public Policy at Keio University; Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania; and Professor at the Keio University School of Medicine Department of Medical Policy and Management. He has also served as the President of the Japan Society for Healthcare Administration, as President of the Japan Health Economics Association, and as a member of the Central Social Insurance Medical Council (Chuikyo) Research Specialist Organization Committee and Investigative Committee for End-of-Life Healthcare Awareness.
