Yoshiro Banno
Fellow, Health and Global Policy InstituteMr. Yoshiro Banno serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Xcoo Inc., a startup that works to apply AI technology to genomic medicine. He graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law in 2002 and earned a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2008. After serving at J.P. Morgan Securities Japan Co., Ltd., he joined Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) in 2005. There, his activities included conducting public opinion surveys, formulating policy recommendations on healthcare in Japan, and managing joint projects involving domestic and international think tanks and organizations. He returned to J.P. Morgan Securities Japan Co., Ltd. in 2010 where he was involved in M&A and capital market operations such as IPOs and public offerings. He joined Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd. in 2014, where his duties included M&A advisory operations with a focus on cross-border deals. He was later transferred to Morgan Stanley’s London branch in 2017. Mr. Banno assumed his current role at Xcoo, Inc. in 2020.
